28th August 2010 - See you at the Stallion Parade

Only a day to go until the Cambridge Stallion Parade. Spartie is getting all groomed so that he's ready for the big day. It's starting at 11am and we'll be there all day in stable D192 with him starting 54th in the ring.

We've just published the Stallion Service Agreement for the 2010/2011 Breeding Season which you can get here.

5 July 2010 - Breeding Season Updates

We're busily gearing up for the new breeding season so lots of work around the property when the rain hasn't been making up for the drought.

Another exciting arrival happened in May with Grey Storm arriving. She is in foal to Spartacus. Our first Spartacus/Storm baby is due in December.

We hope to have the service contract finalised and published very soon. If you want to contact us to discuss your requirements then we'd be happy to discuss these with you. We're looking at offering both natural and AI services to suit all requirements.

6 April 2010 - Auckland Royal Easter Show

We had great day at the Auckland Royal Easter Show over the weekend with both of our competing horses doing well.

Morewynstowe Cascade competed in the junior led sport horse classes and won the foal class and was third in the suitablility for showing class but then stunned us to be awarded the Junior Reserve Champion!!!! For a 4 month old foal this is an amazing result. This meant that he beat 3 year old horses so his class is already showing through.

Sirocco Spartacus had a good day out as well winning the Stallion class so we're really happy with our trip to Auckland.

We're also happy to announce new arrivals to our team with 3 new mares joining us. Alfie is a stunning black Istadaad mare who is really eye catching. Tiffany Case is a dark brown Sculptured Arch mare which is the same stallion as from Maddison's dam. Finally we've also got Bendigo Lass joining us. She's a pretty chestnut mare with four white legs that we believe will go really well with Sirocco Spartacus across her.

A bit of a long update this time but really exciting times at the moment. And to top it all off we've got rain tonight so hopefully even the grass will be happy.

22 March 2010 - Kemeu A&P

It's been a mad few weeks but very productive. On the 14th March we were at the Kumeu A&P Show and had the pleasure of meeting some Glendevon Commander horses while there. While we weren't too productive with ribbons we were able to show off Spartacus and had some great interest.

This weekend we attended the Horse of the Year and were able to catch up with quite a few Glendevon Commander horses as well as a Spartacus Horse. It's great to see these horses out doing well and we congratulate them on their results.

We'd particularly like to congratulate Jackie Jermyn on her win in the 1.25m Horse of the Year Championship on the lovely mare Dolcetto.

The following Glendevon Commander horses competed this year at the Horse of the Year:

Chrialka Zibu

Dolcetto

Sirocco Abba Dabba

Sirocco Hercules

Sirocco Tango

and we're very proud of the Spartacus gelding Sirocco El Cid who also competed in the Rising Star Saddle Hunter Horse class. Well done Wendy.

We also want to thank all the people that we met and that helped us to further piece together the Glendevon Commander story which we hope to be able to really start showing here soon.

5 March 2010 - Morrinsville A&P Show

We had a good day out at the Morrinsville A&P Show today with Sirocco Spartacus behaving really well particularly since this was his first outing in a while. We started with a solid 3rd in the best presented class. Not bad considering we didn't realise we'd entered that class. Woops!! We followed this up with a disappointing second in the Sport Horse Stallion after we got a bit flustered. Finally we rounded it off with second in both the sport horse suited to show jumping and field hunting.

Now we're looking forward to the Kumeu A&P show this coming weekend.

1 MARCH 2010 - First Post

Sirocco Spartacus has been entered in a few events in the next few weeks so we'd love to catch up with people at them.

Morrinsville A&P Show - 5th March

Kumeu A&P Show - 13th - 14th March

Auckland Royal Easter Show - 2nd April

His training is coming along nicely and he's putting on muscle well. Luckily the view at the top of all those hills is good or he'd really hate them by now.

JANUARY 2010 - We have just bought Sirocco Spartacus into our Stud so we are in the process of setting up the Stud to provide his services to mare owners. He's a stunning stallion with nice manners and a proven track record. We're really looking forward to getting him back out on the circuit and seeing how much he's capable of.
